There were special arrangements made for prayers in several mosques and houses where worshipers gathered in large numbers for taraweeh prayers, and spent the night in their devotion and seeking the blessings of Almighty Allah and his mercy and forgiveness with the hope that that supplications will be accepted.
The prayed for the peace and security of their country and for the provision of health and sustenance of them and their beloved ones. Many people who are observing Itikaf across the country observed the occasion with voluntary prayers and religious dedication.
A large numbers of devoted followers spent the entire nights in their religious obligations and in the recitations of the Holy Quran. On this occasion, there were special arrangements for the Khatam-ul-Quran or the completion of Holy Quran.
One of the largest gathering was held at the Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad which was also broadcast on state television. There were also several arrangements in Karachi where they prayed for peace and improvement of law and order situation in the country, while in Hyderabad religious observation was also witnessed till sunrise.
Laylat-ul-Qadr or the Night of Power is believed to be better than a thousand months. Muslims believe that the Holy Quran was revealed on this day. The auspicious night was revealed to the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in Surah Al-Qadr of the Holy Quran.
