Nurses, represented by Young Nurses Association (YNA), ceased working in in-patient and out-patient departments of the hospitals. Director General Health Punjab Zahid Pervez said inquiry would be held once harassment or assault with a nurse was proved.
Advisor to Punjab chief minister on health Khwaja Salman Rafique had sought a day from nurses so that an inquiry report could determine facts of the case.
He said initial investigation suggested that personal dispute of a nurse had led to an incident that was being termed as assault. He said another committee had been formed after the nurses had rejected earlier committee.
YNA General Secretary Samina Khushi said protest would continue until the rogue doctor, who misbehaved with the nurse, was removed.
