A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Jawwad S Khwaja heard the missing persons case on Tuesday.

The court expressed its extreme displeasure over non-identification of the mutilated bodies found in the province and not handed over to the families.

Justice Khwaja in his remarks said that if the government is sincere then a period of one and a half year is enough for handing the mutilated bodies to the heirs.

He said that the issue of missing people can be resolved if the central and provincial governments demonstrate seriousness towards the matter.

“We are not only judges, but humans too and it is difficult to witness the sufferings of the affected families”, remarked the apex court judge.

The bench adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
