The advisor detailed that the provincial government will organise a jirga on March 26 to hold talks with the movement’s leaders. He added, “We are willing to work together for the development of tribal districts.”

The official clarified that the upcoming dialogues will be held within limits of the Constitution and laws. The government-constituted committee will comprise representatives of all political parties, Wazir added.

The PTM, formerly Mehsud Tahaffuz Movement, gained momentum following the extra-judicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud in Karachi.

It sought capital punishment for the prime suspect in Naqeebullah murder case, former SSP Malir Rao Anwar, recovery of missing persons and removal of landmines in tribal areas.
