KMC to set up motorbike track along Shahrah-e-Faisal

KARACHI: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has started the work of setting up a separate motorbike track reserved for motorcyclists alongside Shahrah-e-Faisal, said Mayor Wasim Akhtar while talking to media recently.

The track for motorcyclists will cover the area from Malir Halt to the Metropole Hotel in Saddar.

The anti-encroachments department of KMC in this connection already removed encroachments on both tracks of the road in an operation.

The Mayor in his talk said that this is first time that a separate track is being made for motorbikes along the main corridor of the city which would also ensure the motorcyclists wearing safety helmets while driving bike as no one will be allowed to enter on this track without helmet.

The motorbike track is said to be completed within a month.

Akhtar said that this being a model project, other major corridors will also be provided with such tracks for motor bike riders.

The city government has announced to transform Shahrah-e-Faisal, the key traffic artery of the metropolis into a model road. The road, which is one of the busiest in the city, also connects it with the airport.
