Khattak announces free land for Edhi Foundation in three districts

Khattak laid floral wreath at his grave in the suburban area of Karachi and offered Fatiha for him. He also announced to give free land to Edhi Foundation in a gesture to pay tribute to Edhi’s services.

He then visited Edhi’s residence in Mithadar and condoled with Abdul Sattar’s son, Faisal Edhi.

“Abdul Sattar Edhi was a big national hero,” he said during his visit while accompanied by Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaiser and MNA Mushtaq Ghani.

The PTI delegation led by Pervez Khattak later met CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah.

The CM KP also announced one million rupees for Edhi Center.

Edhi, 88, died late on Friday after a long kidney illness, triggering an outpouring of grief in the impoverished nation of 190 million for a man who transcended social, ethnic and religious divisions.

Over nearly 60 years Edhi’s charitable arm, the Edhi Foundation, established clinics and orphanages across Pakistan and ran a vast fleet of ambulances, offering help to poor communities failed by inadequate public health and welfare services.
