Kate Winslet to play powerful authoritarian in ‘The Regime’

Hollywood actress Kate Winslet is all set to win hearts in her upcoming HBO Max show ‘The Regime‘.

The Regime‘, formerly known as ‘The Palace‘, tells the story of one year within the walls of the palace of a modern European regime as it unravels. The actress plays Madame Chancellor, who wants to craft a “new Europe”.

Apart from Kate Winslet, the cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton, Hugh Grant, Danny Webb, David Bamber, Henry Goodman, Stanley Townsend, Louie Mynett, Rory Keenan, Karl Markovics and Pippa Haywood.

It will be the ‘Titanic’ star’s third collaboration with HBO Max. They worked together in ‘Mildred Pierce‘ and ‘Mare of Easttown‘, for which she bagged the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie Award at the 73rd Emmy Awards.

The writers are Sarah DeLappe, Seth Reiss, Gary Shteyngart, Jen Spyra, Will Tracy and Juli Weiner. 

The series is directed by Stephen Frears and Jessica Hobbs. The duo have also produced the show along with Kate Winslet, Tracey Seaward, Frank Rich and Will Tracy.
