Kashmiris should reject those who opposed Sadiq Khan, says Rashid

Addressing an Iftar dinner hosted by Chaudhry Saeed, a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for LA-3 in Mirpur (Azad Jammu and Kashmir), Rashid said the person, who supported an anti-Pakistan candidate instead of a Pakistani-origin, had no right to request Kashmiris to vote for his party candidates in the upcoming elections.

The minister was referring to the London’s mayoral elections this May when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan had sought votes for his former brother-in-law Zac Goldsmith, who was contesting against the Pakistan-origin Sadiq Khan.

“How Imran could seek votes of Kashmiris as he did not support Sadiq Khan?” asked Rashid at a point during his speech.

The minister claimed that Imran Khan had persuaded people to send money through ‘Hundi’, which was an outlawed practice. But the overseas Pakistanis rejected his ‘wrong advice’ by sending their money back home through banks.

He accused the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), PTI (represented by Barrister Sultan Mahmood) and Sardar Attique of Muslim Conference depriving Mirpur of fundamental facilities despite the staggering sum of foreign exchange remitted by locals.

PML-N’s Rashid said the July 21 elections in AJK was important for both PTI and PML-N and he was certain that people would vote for PML-N for their bright future.
