KARACHI: Sixteen suspects, two members of banned outfit among them, were rounded up during joint search operation carried out by the Rangers and Police in the Scouts Colony of the metropolis late Thursday night, ARY News reported.
The personnel of the Rangers and Police carried out joint operation in the Scouts Colony following up the lead about presence of notorious criminals in the area and arrested 16 suspects, including two activists of a proscribed organisation.
The identity of the suspects was not disclosed by the law enforcement agencies.
Police arrested 29 gamblers during a raid in Nazimabad area and recovered cash, mobile phones and other valuables from their possession. People caught two robbers in the act of snatching valuables in Tariq Road area and handed them over to the local police after giving them a good thrash.
Meanwhile, the paramilitary troops arrested a gang of criminals from Gadap Town and recovered explosives and illicit arms from their possession. According to the spokesperson of Rangers, the paramilitary troopers carried action on a tip-off provided by the intelligence agencies.
Twenty-five kilograms of explosive material contained in 76 bags, 31 detonators, and illicit weapons were recovered from their possession, Rangers spokesman said.
