KARACHI: Police arrested 37 suspected criminals into custody in overnight raids in different parts of Karachi, ARY News reported on Thursday.
Armed men opened fire at the law enforcement personnel during a search operation in Surjani Town, police sources said.
Policemen trade fire with the gunmen and arrested two assailants in wounded condition, sources said.
Illegal weapons and hand grenades were recovered from the arrested men, police officials said.
The law enforcers also arrested 15 other suspects from the area.
In another raid in Boat Basin area of the metropolis police arrested 20 suspects. Police questioning the arrested persons, officials said.
