KARACHI: A large number of youngsters flocked towards National Stadium Karachi on Monday morning to give trials in the Talent Hunt program organised by the most expensive and popular cricket team of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings.
The trials kicked off at 09:00 am and would last until 06:00 pm.
Scores of young cricket enthusiasts donning white kits seemed quite excited while getting themselves registered in the ground to exhibit the talent they had hidden in them as an undiscovered treasure.
The best bowlers, batsmen and all-rounders will get selected to have the honor to play in the revered team of PSL, Karachi Kings.
The charged up young fellows said Karachi Kings had provided them the chance to showcase their skills at grassroots level that no other cricket body had given them so far.
The Talent Hunt program – Khiladi ki Khoj — started dot at 09:00am. The aspirants youth, aged between 16 and 23, flexed their muscles to get warmed up though push-ups, sit-ups and hop-skipping.
The players were given 3-4 balls to prove their metals.
Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif, Jalaluddin, Iqbal Qasim and Saleem Yousif are the judges and selectors for the program to shortlist and select cricketers for the second edition of PSL next year.
Four pitches covered with net were set up in a row to engage and scrutinize several players at a time.
While talking to ARY News Rashid Latif said it was too tough to select players out of open trials because of excessive number of people.
