KARACHI: A fire broke out in a godown in Nazimabad area of Karachi on Friday morning, ARY News reported.
The four-storey building Tariq Plaza in Nazimabad locality reportedly comprises of 55 residential flats and a godown at the ground floor of the building. Rescue workers have evacuated residents from the building to avoid any loss of life.
Three fire tenders are dousing the fire. So far, no loss of life has been reported. The firemen have been engaged in fighting the blaze.
According to sources, the fire erupted at 6 am in the morning, which intensified in later hours. Seven more fire tenders have been called from across the city to control and extinguish the fire.
The fire brigade sources have confirmed that previously two fire incidents had taken place in the building. The cause of fire has not been ascertained.
Last month, a fire had erupted in a warehouse at Karachi Dockyard in the port area of the city. The blaze was controlled after four hours of fire-fighting.
