Kansas native prefers to spend life in jail than home

KANSAS: A 70-year old Kansas resident allegedly robbed a bank so that he could spend the rest of his life ‘peacefully’ in jail away from his home.

According to details, Lawrence John Ripple decided to rob a bank in Kansas City after having an argument with his wife.

He had planned on getting arrested and spent the rest of his life in jail “in peace”.

The Kansas

native chose a bank which was near the police station. After reportedly looting $3,000 from the bank, he waited for the police to arrive. He told the policemen that he was the suspect they were looking for.

Ripple, during the questioning, told the police that he would prefer to live in prison than at his house.

He may face a jail sentence of upto 20 years if he is proven guilty.
