JPNA breaks ‘Choorian’s’ record, earns more than $4.4 million worldwide

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani enthused and enthralled audiences in Pakistan and worldwide like no other film. With an ensemble cast, witty script and cutting edge humour, the film became a blockbuster at the box office. Now, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani has surpassed Syed Noor’s 1998 masterpiece Choorian, as it grossed over more than a staggering $4.4 million worldwide!

In a tweet by Box Office Detail, it read that JPNA had broken the 17 year-old record held by Choorian.


The news was also shared by Vasay Chaudhry, who had penned the script of the movie (along with all of its hilarious jokes) and revealed that he was in a conversation with Syed Noor himself, when he chanced upon this news.

Abbasi, Humayun Saeed, Sohai Ali Abro, Vasay Chaudhry, Sarwat Gillani, Mehwish Hayat, Ayesha Khan, Ahmad Butt, Javed Sheikh, Uzma Khan and Bushra Ansari, the movie was appreciated for its entertaining storyline and brilliant direction. Each character added his/her own charm to the project which enabled the movie to become such a huge success.

Not only that, a string of upbeat and groovy tracks which were part of the movie, also helped propel it towards the success it enjoys today. And of course, who can deny the brilliance of director Nadeem Baig?

Congratulations to the whole team of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, who made headlines and broke records, by giving the nation a masterpiece. As they say, numbers don’t lie!
