Johnny Depp injures his hand!

Bad news for captain Jack Sparrow and his fans. The Pirates of the Caribbean star injured his hand and will fly back to the United States for surgery.

The star however, did not hurt himself whilst filming for the movie but encountered the injury off-set. Sources from the film production brushed away concerns about Johnny’s absence impacting the movie’s schedule and stated that the shooting would continue. Scenes not involving Depp will be shot hence the damage would be minimal.

The production had spent a gigantic $250 million budget for the latest film in the Pirates franchise. This is not the first time that the film has been threatened by delays. Earlier, a man dressed up as a pirate with a parrot resting on his shoulders, had threatened the crew with a knife and disappeared. The police searched the entire area but could not apprehend the suspect. Back in January, Cyclone Marcia also threatened to disrupt the movie and postpone the shooting schedule. However, shooting took place at Gold Coast Studio, nearly 700 kilometers away from the danger site hence no unfortunate incident or delay occurred.

The role of captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp throughout the series has been acknowledged worldwide and won Depp glittering praise. The technical witty lines and lazy walk of the pirate have become the significant aspect of Jack Sparrow.  Starring alongside Depp is Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Kaya Scodelario (Skins), Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent) and Golshifteh Farahani (Exodus: Gods and Kings).

We hope Johnny Depp recovers from his hand injury soon and goes back to shooting for the new Pirates of the Caribbean part. Shooting for the film commenced last month in February and the release date remains unaltered so far, slated for its original July 7, 2017 date. Queensland had beaten fellow Australian states and Mexico to host the shooting of the film.
