JI team holds talks with government ministers

JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch talking to media said that Jamaat Islami had forwarded Imran Khan’s demands to the government and now other political parties will be informed about the government stance on these demands.

Expressing his fears over the political stalemate, Baloch said that the PTI’s demands include recounting of votes, electoral reforms and reconstitution of the election commission.

He said the protest is democratic

right of the opposition and he was not against the long march. He advised the government to avoid any extra-constitutional step to tackle the situation. He also advised the marchers to avoid the path of violence.

Replying a question Liaquat Baloch said that former president Pervez Musharraf should not be offered a safe passage. He said the government should wait for the court’s decision in the case.
