Islamabad police warn PTI workers against violating section 144

Islamabad police Thursday warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers against violating section 144 in the federal capital ahead of Imran Khan’s appearance in Islamabad High Court (IHC) later in the day, ARY News reported.

The Islamabad police spokesperson said section 144 is imposed in the city and any kind of public gathering will be considered ‘illegal’ and action would be taken.

The statement further said that to ensure a law and order situation there would be a diversion at the G-10 project morr. Traffic at the Aun Muhammad Rizvi Road will also be diverted.

The Islamabad police have advised citizens to follow the route plan and travel at the alternate routes.

The former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan is set to appear before a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, which had warned him of bail revocation over continuous absence from court, on yesterday’s hearing.

Security has been tightened around the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s appearance who has left for the federal capital to secure interim bail in nine different cases.

A heavy contingent of police was deployed around the court while barbed wires and containers are also being placed to ensure law and order in the area.

The police have also banned the entry of unrelated persons into the IHC.
