ISLAMABAD: Interior Ministry on Wednesday decided to enhance security for political party heads facing serious security threats, ARY News reported.
The Federal Interior Secretary chaired the meeting, attended by Provincial Chief Secretaries and Home Secretaries, and inspector generals of police through video conference.
The meeting reviewed proposals for ensuring security of senior political leaders in the wake of threats alerts issued by NACTA.
It discussed threats being faced by political leaders from domestic and foreign elements and exchange of information about it with provincial governments.
The meeting also decided to provide complete security to international observers and the people deputed on the projects being executed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
It is pertinent to note here that a prominent leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Haroon Bilour lost his life yesterday (Tuesday) in a suicide blast in Peshawar city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ANP leader was chairing a corner meeting as a part of his electoral campaign.
