Senator Rehman Malik had revealed in the Senate that all session held at the PM House and other buildings in the vicinity are spied on.
“In 2012, a high-level meeting was underway at the PM House that officials informed the session was being monitored by means of ‘spy signals’ emitted from Diplomatic Enclave and feared disclosure of proceedings at the meeting,” Malik had said. “The meeting had to be cancelled in the wake of snooping.”
Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani had forwarded the matter to Standing Committee on Interior.
Intelligence officials will be giving an in camera briefing to members of the Senate committee on Wednesday. They will also apprise the members of counter-measures taken in this regard.
Sources said the briefing was earlier scheduled for Tuesday, however it will now be held a day later (Wednesday).
