A bizarre incident occurred when a group of women began to worship a kangaroo-shaped dustbin placed outside a temple mistaking it for a deity.
India has multiple faiths and beliefs and the highly devout nation drives people to worship animals, trees, rocks and several other objects but this incident took devotion a bit too far.
A temple complex had kept a kangaroo-shaped dustbin outside as part of the ‘Swach Bharat’ cleanliness campaign. However, a group of women started worshiping the figurine mistaking it for a deity.
The sari-clad women applied vermilion and sprinkled the dustbin with holy water. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The location could not be ascertained but is said to be shot in Bihar, presumably during the festive occasion of Chhath in late October.
The video has left the internet in splits but there were many who expressed concern over the sheer naivety of the women.

Sobering. Our national capacity for reverence & idol-worship taken to an extreme! https://t.co/ohaXme2yVL

Cant blame the people who are brought up in a culture where superstition prevails. A normal dustbin with proper instructions was needed.
