LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan has arrived in Lahore on a daylong visit to chair a meeting of the Punjab cabinet.
During his stay in the provincial capital, the prime minister will meet Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
He will preside over a meeting of the Punjab cabinet to review the implementation of the PTI government’s 100-day plan.
The prime minister will also meet members of the provincial assembly and party leaders, according to a statement issued by the PTI media cell.
This will be the second visit of the premier to the provincial capital of Punjab since he assumed office in August.
Yesterday, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired a high level meeting in Lahore and reviewed proposals regarding the new local government system.
He said the new local government system in the province would be according to the public aspirations and resolve issues at people’s doorstep.
The CM said as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, a system of checks and balances would be introduced in local government institutions.
Minister Aleem Khan and the secretary Local Government and Community Development Department gave the chief minister a detailed briefing on the proposed new local government system.
