ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday demanded an immediate merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), ARY News reported.

“Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Molana Fazlur Rehman is playing a dangerous game regarding the merger. He does not want FATA to be merged with KP because the government and Fazl think that this merger will go in PTI’s favor,” he said.

He said after abolishment of old tribal system in FATA there was a vaccum which, if not filled, would lead to influx of terrorism from Afghanistan.

“Only extension of the Supreme Court and high court jurisdictions are not enough. There is need for infrastructure as well,” he said.

He said the sacrifices of the military and people of Waziristan paved the way for peace in FATA and it was feared that terrorism will again take roots in the area, if quick merger was not made.

The PTI chief also pointed out towards the amendment made in the constitutional clause of Khatam-e-Nabuwwat. He said the nation still had not forgotten the unjustified amendments in the Khatam e Nabuwwat law.

“Demands from across the country are being made to make Raja Zafarul Haq investigation report on the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat law public,” he said.

Imran Khan asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to investigate into mega projects like Orange Line Train and LNG import.

Blaming the ruling government leaders of embezzlement in public exchequer he said, “They take kickbacks from these mega projects.”

He said Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Ashiana housing scam was just tip of the iceberg. There was a lot more to discover, he added.

“Much bigger scams will be uncovered once probe by NAB starts on sasti roti, metros, esp orange train where the contract has been kept under wraps, massive kickbacks in Punjab road construction contracts, Danish schools etc,” he said.
