ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Saturday approved party leader Imran Ismail’s name as next Sindh governor, ARY News reported.

According to ARY News correspondent, Imran Ismail has met PTI chief Imran Khan at his Islamabad residence and has been selected as next governor Sindh.

It is pertinent to note here that Sindh’s former governor Muhammad Zubair  stepped down from his position and sent his resignation to the president on July 28, three days after PTI emerged as the biggest party after general elections.

Zubair’s resignation was approved by President Mamnoon Hussain on August 3.

Zubair was appointed by the previous government and resigned citing “widespread rigging” during the July 25 general elections.

The development, however, came a day after PTI, decided to change the governors in three provinces, including Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Paklhtunkhwa.
