Imran says no difference between PML-N and PPP, both fixed 2013 elections

ABBOTTABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan said that the future of the nation will be decided in the general elections on July 25 as every nation deserves to change its destiny.

Addressing a campaign rally, the PTI chairman said that there was no difference between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as the leaders of both parties come to the country just to make money.

“There is no difference between the PML-N and PPP. The leaders of both parties come to the country to make money. Both joined hands and played a friendly opposition,” he said.

He further said the 2013 elections were fixed as both parties attempted to bring their own empires. “The 2013 elections were fixed. They had their own umpires, and there was an understanding between both parties.”

The PTI chairman said the nation was progressing for sixty years, as debts were lower and large dams were being constructed and cheaper electricity was being provided, but the last decade was the worst performing as foreign debts ballooned and the value of the currency depreciated.

“Ten years ago the dollar was Rs60 and today it has reached Rs125,” he said. “Petrol and Maulana Fazlur Rehman i.e diesel has also become costly,” he added taking a direct jibe at his political adversary the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief.

He further that appointments were made in national institutions based on favouritism and nepotism, which further indebted the nation due to their inefficiency and corruption.

“NAB, FIA and FBR cannot lay their hands on them. Inefficiency and corruption indebted the nation. To repay the debt hefty taxes are imposed,” he said.

‘Safdar courting arrest as if he has conquered Kashmir’

Reffering to the Avenfield verdict, he said that Captain retired Safdar, the son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, is moving as he is achieved something and has conquered Kashmir.

“Captain Safdar is courting arrest as if he has conquered Kashmir. He should be ashamed of himself,” he said adding such incident show the moral decay of the nation.

He said that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter are returning to the nation next Friday, and are proclaiming that that are innocent. He said the Nawaz Sharif should not attempt to emulate South African leader Nelson Mandela who served 27 years in jail.

“If a prime minister was involved in corruption, he would not even dare to step outside,” he said and no one would defending and supporting him in a civilised democratic country.

He said the nation cannot progress if corruption is not eradicated and the people and bureaucracy should support them. “Shehbaz Sharif disrespected and defamed the civil service,” he said they will reform the bureacracy and make the nation prosperous.

He said people should vote for the PTI in the July 25 elections, as it will stands for ideological workers, and independent candidates even if victorious will not find a place in the party.
