DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched a new all-encompassing cricket mobile app ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 to be held in England and Wales from June 1-18.
The cricket app will have a host of attractive features that will take fan experience to a new level, and will be available for all international cricket including the Champions Trophy and the Women’s World Cup.
The app will offer coverage through the year across all current and upcoming series and tournaments including fixtures, results, HD quality videos, news, rankings and more, allowing fans to follow and support their favourite teams, receive breaking news and score notifications.

The app will enable fans to follow matches of both the Champions Trophy and Women’s World Cup on a live match centre that will provide ball-by-ball updates and commentary, short form video highlights, exclusive videos interviews and features.
The app will be available to iOS and Android users while existing users of the ICC app will need to update it.
ICC also announced the launch of its newsletter ‘Leading Edge’ which will deliver personalised cricket content to fans in different parts of the world.
The newsletter will provide latest news updates about favourite teams, events and competitions. It also includes video interviews with leading players, previews, features and exclusive offers. Subscribers can follow match results and also receive information on the ICC Rankings updates, ICC Hall of Fame and ICC Awards.
“The new ICC mobile app and the fans’ newsletter ‘Leading Edge’ are aimed to provide global cricket fans with relevant and personalised content throughout the year,” said Aarti Dabas, ICC Head of Media Rights, Broadcast and Digital.
“ICC’s digital products will not only give cricket fans a chance to keep abreast with all international cricket news but also provide them with in-depth coverage during ICC Events, including the fastest live scores, a live commentary blog on the new-look match centre and exclusive video content.”
The ICC Champions Trophy website has been built responsively offering access across mobile, tablet and desktop devices. The website will provide all the latest event news, exclusive columns and insights from the top names of the game, information on teams, players, venues and tickets, and a platform to track the Trophy tour.
ICC will also launch the official Fantasy Game as the event comes closer with other predictive and polling functions allowing fans to create their own leagues and play against each other.
During the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, fans will be able to see a live match centre with the fastest live scores, match video highlights, live commentary blogs and ball-by-ball text updates.
They will also see other content including behind the scenes videos, player interviews, user generated content activation like photo uploads, Play of the Day and all tournament related social media content.
