‘Half of Indians afraid of China’s relationship with Pakistan’

Nearly half (48%) of Indians think China’s relationship with Pakistan poses a very serious problem for India, A PEW survey conducted this week revealed. 

According to the survey based on face-to-face interviews conducted under the direction of Princeton Survey Research Associates International, Another 21% see this as a somewhat serious challenge.

The findings of the survey indicate that 22% of the Indian public approves of Modi’s management of India’s volatile relationship with Pakistan. Half disapprove. This harsh judgment is relatively unchanged from 2015.

It is pertinent to note here that “all weather friends” China and Pakistan have agreed to form the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The $2 billion in agreements covered infrastructure, solar power and logistics, among other projects, signed by companies from Xinjiang with their Pakistan counterparts.

The projects under CPEC aim to improve the lives of people of Pakistan and China by building an economic corridor promoting bilateral connectivity, construction, explore potential bilateral investment, economic and trade, logistics and people to people contact for enhanced regional connectivity.
