KARACHI: Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial, highlighting ‘threats to his life’, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
In his letter addressed to the Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice as well, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader highlighted “immediate and serious threats” to his life.
He alleged that former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, his son Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah have planned to assassinate.
“I have been attacked multiple times before and they have registered various baseless cases against me,” the MPA said, adding that he was being targetted for raising his voice against the corruption in the province.
The letter further said that if something happened to Haleem Sheikh then the “sole responsibility will go to Asif Zardari, Bilawal Zardari and CM Murad Ali Shah.”
Earlier in the day, the Lahore High Court (LHC) reserved a verdict in a case related to the detention of Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh after hearing arguments from both sides.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader was taken into custody by police personnel in plain clothes and taken to an unknown location.
