ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will auction four helicopters of the Cabinet Division, which are in excess, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Political Affairs Naeemul Haq tweeted early Tuesday.
The PM’s special assistant wrote “4 [four] surplus helicopters will be sold which are lying unused with the cabinet division.”
With a special emphasis, Haq wrote in his message “now listen to this” and announced to also auction eight buffaloes which “Nawaz kept at the PM [Prime Minister] House” in order to cater to his “gastronomic requirements”.
He asked all the potential buyers to be ready for the auction of government owned surplus helicopters and buffaloes on September 17.
After being sworn
in as the chief executive of the state, PM Imran Khan, in his first address to the nation, had stressed on cost-cutting for the government expenditure and urged every government department to adopt austerity.Later, the government, as a measure, had announced the auction of surplus PM House vehicles.
The cabinet division, on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directives have issued an advertisement inviting bidders for the auction of 33 cars which include at least eight luxury BMW and four Mercedes Benz cars.
The advertisement issued in this regard says the auction will be held on PM House on September 17 at 10 AM and the money will be deposited in national kitty.
