Addressing the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Wednesday, the finance minister said that the economic growth rate will reach to five percent in current fiscal year.
He said import of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Qatar will help to resolve the energy crisis in the country.
Ishaq Dar said the government is now focusing on growth of economy as it will create employment, enhance per capita income and improve living standard of the people.
He said the country has achieved economic turnaround and the national economy is now stable due to prudent policies of the government.
Some traders, during the minister’s address, were protesting outside the chamber building against imposition of withholding tax on bank transactions.
