“Legislation could now be done on Panama Leaks issue after the Supreme Court has refused to constitute a ‘toothless’ judicial commission to investigate revelations made in the Panama Papers implicating political leaders for having offshore wealth,” he said while talking to media at Circuit House in Badin.
The chief justice had responded to the government letter on May 13, saying that formation of commission was impossible in view of the terms of references laid out by the government.
Chandio said the situation had got worse because of the advisors who suggested the prime minister to flee from the parliament, adding that final destination of democratic politicians after all was parliament.
While lauding the efforts of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif in abating terrorism in the country, the provincial advisor said General Raheel Sharif’s role was historical in bringing the war on terror to a conclusive end in a fine way.
He also said restoration of peace in Karachi was because of Rangers and police operation. “Initially, I myself had reservations over Karachi Operation, but the reality is that this indiscriminate operation has established peace in the city.”
Chandio also claimed that the coming days belonged to Pakistan People’s Party’s rise in the country.
