ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the law enforcement agencies have been tasked to keep strict vigilance to curb the menace of currency and bullion smuggling.
Talking to a delegation of Forex Association of Pakistan in Islamabad the finance minister said that the airports will also be focussed to curb illegal movement of the currency.
He said the rupee dollar parity will not be allowed to be tampered through illegal practices, and discipline will be enforced.
The minister said crackdown
has been launched against illegal money changers and currency and bullion smuggling. The FIA, IB, Custom Intelligence and State Bank of Pakistan have been tasked to keep strict vigilance to curb this menace of currency and bullion smuggling.He said the government would not allow any unscrupulous element to play with the destiny of the country. He said that one rupee devaluation costs 57 billion Rupees loss to the exchequer.
The forex dealers assured their full cooperation to the government over the matter.
