Govt hikes gas prices by 13 to 63 percent

According to details, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) passed a notification regarding the increase in gas prices.

OGRA stated that the notification was issued on the instructions of the federal government.

According to the notification, the government has hiked the rates by 13 percent for domestic consumers while the cost for commercial users has been hiked by 10 percent.

The cost for industrial sector has been increased by 22 percent while the rates for the fertilizer sector has been increased by 63 percent.

The revised rates will be applicable from the September 1.
