ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that the government is fully committed to alleviate poverty from the country.
Addressing a ceremony at National Library in the federal capital on Thursday, Dr. Arif Alvi said that provision of quality education and healthcare can help eradicate the menace of poverty.
Giving example of China, he said that Beijing used education and provision of health care to uplift its society. He said that disparity between the poor and the rich causes resentment among the masses.
The president said that PTI-led government was taking measures for the progress and prosperity of the poor segments of the society.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan would launch a poverty alleviation programme on February 28.
The Ministry of Finance and other organisations have completed their work in this regard. The federal government will launch this programme at a ceremony at the PM Office in Islamabad, where the prime minister will speak on the government measures about poverty eradication.
