PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman, in his message on Ashura, said that the tragedy of Karbala and Imam Hussain’s (R.A.) martyrdom teaches us the lessons of faith, steadfastness, perseverance and patience, ARY News reported.
In his message on 10th of Muharram, the governor said that Ashura reminds the Muslims of the historic tragedy wherein Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and his companions embraced martyrdom at Karbala.
“It signifies that great sacrifice offered by the 72 martyrs who chose the path of truth and righteousness to fight against the forces of evils and tyranny with in-shakable spirit of commitment and steadfastness,” reads the message released from his office.
He added that in the tragedy of Karbala, there is a comprehensive message for us with far reaching effects as it teaches us the lessons of faith, steadfastness, perseverance and above all patience at a time when faced with heavy odds and powerful adversaries.
“On the occasion of Aushura-e-Muharram, being observed today, I take the opportunity to stress upon the countrymen in general and the people of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular to maintain complete unity, cohesion and harmony in their ranks; demonstrate the highest level of fraternity and commitment for ensuring better future for the coming generations,” the governor concluded.
Youm-e-Ashur, the 10th of Muharram, is being observed with reverence and religious solemnity in the country today (Friday).
