LAHORE: An aviation official at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport set an example of honesty and dedication when she alerted the authorities about a bag full of gold misplaced by the owner, ARY News reported.
According to details, a passenger namely Mushtaq, who was travelling to London from Lahore along with his family, had forgotten his handbag in the airport’s departure lounge on March 9.
When the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) official Shamma Riaz found the bag and opened it to inspect, the bag was found to be full of gold jewellery worth four million rupees.
She handed over the bag along with all of its contents to the Lost and Found (Departures) section which alerted the airport’s manager, Tahir Sikandar.
Manager Sikandar and his team tried hard to trace the family and finally located the owner’s brother Mohammad Akram.
The authorities on Monday handed over the bag to Akram, who thanked the aviation officials for their efforts.
