This year’s show has been dedicated to “Baba e Baghbani” and founder of the HSP, late A K Khan, who passed away recently.
In his address, the corps commander appreciated the society for regularly holding the show since 1950. He paid tributes to the Late A. K Khan’s contribution to the development of this healthy activity, linked with soft image of the country and peace in the city.
On the occasion, Chairman HSP Kalim Farooqi acknowledged the support of the partners in making this annual event a resounding success and said that the present space is proving to be too small to accommodate the visitors.
After the show opened, awards in different categories were also announced for winner of best residential garden, parks, factory gardens, hospital gardens, mosque gardens, etc.
Specialized clubs and societies like Ladies Horticultural Club, Floral Art Society, Ikebana International, Ikenobo Study Group, Amateur Gardeners Club, Orchid Society of Pakistan, Pakistan Bonsai Society, Cactus & Succulent Society of Pakistan, Sogetsu & Floral Art Study Group have been displaying their floral and rare plants stalls.
The show will go on until Feb 28 from 8am to 12 midnight.
