According to details, on an intelligence report about presence of criminals, police conducted search operation in Meeni village adjacent to Swabi. The terrorists hiding in the area opened fire at policemen and three gunmen were killed in the police fire while the fourth killed himself by detonating his explosives.
The terrorists were hiding in the hilly terrain from where the police have recovered large cache of arms and ammunition.
A large contingent of the district Police launched a search operation in the area after the incident.
The dead bodies of the terrorists were transferred to a local hospital.
