KARACHI: Police on Wednesday collared four suspects including a woman suspected to be involved in car and motorcycle snatching in Karachi, ARY News reported.
The arrests were made during raids in Surjani Town and Iqbal Market.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West said the apprehended robbers included Rukhsana, Bilal, Aatif and Sajid.
“The woman mugger would rob people while disguising as a man,” he said.
He said they used to snatch vehicles and sell their parts.
The SSP West said seven motorcycles and a cutter was recovered from their possession.
The police officer said in a separate raid Surjani police arrested three outlaws, Shahid, Ibrahim and Amanat, involved in drug smuggling. 80 kilogram of drug was recovered from them.
Last month in a raid, Sindh Rangers rounded up four persons involved in stealing and snatching motorbikes from different areas of Karachi.
The Sindh Rangers spokesperson said the suspects were arrested during separate raids in Malir 15 and Lyari areas.
The suspects, Noor Muhammed, Zaid Ali, Maaz Ali and Muhammed Raheem used to steal bikes from Malir, Sarjani, Landhi and commercial areas of the metropolis, he said.
“They snatched and stole more than 500 bikes,” the Sindh Rangers spokesman said adding that four motorcycles and different number plates were recovered from them.
He said the suspects would go to Turbat, Balochistan, on the motorbikes with forged number plates.
