Foreign diplomats directed to restrict movements in Karachi

KARACHI: The government has asked foreign diplomats in Karachi to restrict their movements in view of security threats, ARY News reported Thursday.

In a letter of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, diplomats and foreign trade missions are asked to restrict their unnecessary movements. The ministry asked them to avoid visiting big shopping centres of the city.

The letter asked all the officials of consulates, deputy high commissioners and foreign organizations to strictly implement the directives of the ministry.

Earlier, Additional Inspector General Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo had hinted that fallout of ongoing military operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) might be seen in Karachi. He added that city police were ready to cope with any untoward incident in its wake.
