Addressing a press conference here, Qari Hanif Jalandhari said if a madressa [religious seminary] is involved in terrorism, it should be identified.
“We never disallowed registration of madaris, but the officials of the concerned departments created hurdles in this regard”, he said.
He lamented that efforts are being made to link tragedies with religious seminaries.
Jalandhari demanded the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif to exclude madaris from the National Action Plan and to focus on the actual causes of terrorism.
Moreover, he clarified that any step taken by the government in contrast with its agreement with Ittehad Tanzeemat Madaris, will not be accepted.
