KARACHI: A fire broke out at a Towel Factory near Sana Cinema in New Karachi area of the city in the wee hours of Friday morning.
According to rescue officials, the firefighting operation is underway and four fire tenders are taking part in the operation.
No loss of life has been reported so far.
However, cotton and wool bales worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes as result of the fire.
According to factory staffs’ account, the fire was already erupted before they arrived at the three-storey building in the morning.
The rescue officials are establishing the cause of fire.
Earlier on Aug 31, at least five people including three firefighters had suffered injuries after a fire erupted at a Garment factory in the SITE area. A portion of the factory had collapsed due to the fire.
