LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior vice president Fawad Chaudhry on Monday moved Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief organiser Maryam Nawaz over ‘controversial tweet’, ARY News reported.
According to details, the former federal minister has filed an application in FIA against Maryam Nawaz for ‘posting a controversial tweet’ against PTI chairman Imran Khan.
In the application, Fawad Chaudhry said that the PML-N leader made attempt to defame the former prime minister.
“Attempts were made to dishearten workers by making Imran Khan’s health controversial”, it said, urging the investigation agency to take relevant action against Maryam Nawaz.
Earlier, the PML-N leader – in a tweet – said that whoever facilitated Imran Khan faced disgraced, terming the PTI chairman a ‘foreign agent’. “Khan’s responsibility is to create chaos in Pakistan, so that this country cannot move forward,” she added.

A day earlier, PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that the state should stop PTI chief Imran Khan with full force, otherwise, the country would go into the wrong hands.
Maryam Nawaz made the statement while addressing the lawyers’ wing in Lahore. She said that the National Assembly (NA) had been dissolved on the ruling of Qasim Suri but the violator of the Constitution was allowed to go home.
She admitted that it was a mistake of the incumbent government not to file a petition. She added that the time has not passed yet and the government should approach the court now.
