Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar has rejected the allegations levelled by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Justice Retired Mian Saqib Nisar said in a statement that lies do not suit a prime minister who takes an oath to the Constitution. He slammed the premier by saying that Shehbaz Sharif should not blame the judiciary for hiding his failures.
“The construction of the PKLI [Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute] costs billions to the national exchequer but its operation theatre was not even functional when I was the chief justice. A forensic report is also present on the irregularities in the PKLI.”

The former chief justice said that Shehbaz Sharif should know the facts before levelling allegations against any individual. He rejected the allegations that he wanted to appoint his brother to the PKLI.
Nisar blamed Sharif for levelling such allegations just to deceive the nation. “Some officers were receiving millions of salaries who were already working in 56 companies.”
Responding to another allegation, Saqib Nisar said that the premier was raising an objection to opening the court on Sunday. “It is the chief justice’s right to open the court on Sunday or not.”
Earlier in the day, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the former chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar wanted to appoint his brother to Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI).

PM Sharif made the statement while visiting to the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology & Transplantation (RIUT).
He said that the former chief justice Saqib Nisar asked where did the Rs 20 billion go? He had accused him of wasting the funds. In his response, PM Shehbaz Sharif said if the funds were wasted then how did this hospital become a hope for the people during the testing time of COVID-19?
PM Shehbaz Sharif further said that Saqib Nisar used to call Dr Saeed to court to insult him and he wanted to appoint his brother in Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI).
