A shocking video of an England cricket star Ben Stokes has emerged, showing him brutally punching two people during a reported nightclub brawl.
It is reported by the The Sun that the cricketer broke his in the fight and faces a battle to be fit for the First Test in Australia.
Shocking footage acquired by The Sun shows Ben Stokes, 26, thumping two men during the brawl in Bristol at 2.35am on Monday.
He was arrested for suspected actual bodily harm and released without charge while police investigate.
The video will form a key part of England supremo Andrew Strauss’ probe into the behaviour of Stokes, Alex Hales and up to five team-mates.
Strauss is threatening to fine or suspend players while head coach Trevor Bayliss blasted his team as “unprofessional” and is considering an Ashes curfew.
It is almost inconceivable that Stokes can remain as captain Joe Root’s deputy for the tour and, once ECB chiefs have seen the footage, he could also be fined and suspended, reported the website.
Hales returned to Bristol to help detectives with their inquiries. The pair had been part of the England team which beat West Indies in a one-day international in the city on Sunday.
They were celebrating with teammates including Jake Ball, and England test star Jimmy Anderson, who had been working for Sky TV.
Bosses at the England and Wales Cricket Board will also decide if their star player faces action.
An insider, quoted by The Sun, said: “A man was threatening two people and evidently picked up a bottle.
“Stokes told him to calm down and to step away and then the man started kicking off at him.”
