Enemies tend to sabotage peace in Balochistan, says Gen Aamir Riaz

“Peace has been restored in Balochistan owing to the security forces’ valiant efforts,” he said while addressing a ceremony at Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Quetta to hand over keys of houses to the heirs of 26 FC martyrs in the province.

He said enemies of Pakistan were still creating law and order problems in the province. “Nefarious enemy designs will be foiled in any case,” he said.

Inspector General (IG) of FC Balochistan, Major General Sher Afgun said 675 FC personnel embraced martyrdom and over 2,000 were wounded in the past 10 years of war on terror.

He said the sacrifices laid by the paramilitary force have helped restore peace in the province.

In the end, the commander southern command and IG FC Balochistan handed over keys to the families of FC martyrs hailing from different areas of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. A large number of family members of FC personnel and other military high-ups were also present on the occasion.

The military commanders vowed to have more houses built and financial aid for martyrs’ families.
