Popular film and television actress Veena Malik on Friday said that working in India taught her a lot and brought a lot of maturity but she no longer wants to work in the neighbouring country.
“The main reason (behind this decision) is that no matter what you do and how much you work there (in India) they’ll not remember you as one of their own, on the contrary, even if I die working here in Pakistan, this country will remember me,” Veena Malik told ARY News during the channel’s popular show ‘Har Lamha Purjosh’
About her own journey into the Indian media industry, she said that she feels she was destined to go there and work and the experience has taught her lot.
About the recent Pakistan-India tensions and her views on the matter, she said that even while hosting a Pakistan-India series in the neighbouring country, she used to wear green to support Pakistan team.
“We sell our services not our conscience,” said Veena Malik.

As the show’s host asked her about her marriage and divorce with Asad Khattak, the actress said that she tried a lot to save her marriage but has recovered from the heartbreak after divorce.
“Despite being a celebrity, I opted for arranged marriage, had kids and worked at home like a housewife, but then came a moment when I had to call it quits,” said Veena Malik.
She advised young girls that marriage is a beautiful relationship and should not be ended on minor disputes but as for her own marriage, she maintained that yes, she was heartbroken but has now recovered.
During the rapid fire round, Veena Malik described Indian film star Salman Khan as “King of Bollywood” while termed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan “drama queen”.
When asked about her favourite project, she said that as an artist, her best project is yet to come.
