ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office on Sunday summoned Acting Indian Deputy High Commissioner and lodged a strong protest over unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian forces.
The latest incident occurred in Kotli and Nakiyal sector along the Line of Control on Friday resulting in the martyrdom of a 22-year-old girl from Balakot and injuries to two other civilians including a woman.
According to Foreign Office, India has continued to indulge in ceasefire violations, despite calls for restraint.

In 2017 to date, Indian forces have carried out 873 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary resulting in martyrdom of thirty-nine innocent civilians and injuries to 144 people.
Acting Director General South Asia and SAARC urged New Delhi to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement. He also asked the Indian side to investigate and halt the incidents of ceasefire violations to maintain peace on the LoC.
