ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, in the light of evidences, constituted various teams to record statements in Karachi and Islamabad in fake bank accounts case.
The special meeting of the watchdog held at NAB Headquarter today with NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal in the chair to review the initial reports submitted by the combined investigation team (CIT) in the fake accounts case and progress in other cases.
According to the NAB declaration, the meeting discussed transferring of fake accounts case, in the light of the Supreme Court verdict, under 16-A from banking court Karachi to accountability court.
The NAB chairman directed to comply with the apex court verdict in letter and spirit and asked the officials to leave no stone unturned in taking the cases to their logical end.
He said that NAB believed in taking the probe to its logical end via concrete evidence, merit and transparent investigations.
NAB prosecutor general, DG operations, DG NAB and other senior officials were present in the meeting.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team in Rawalpindi had prepared its initial report into fake bank accounts case on February 3.
A combined investigation team had also been constituted in the light of JIT report to process probe to the next stage, sources said. The accountability officials had also taken a briefing from the joint investigation team, probing the matter. Further record had also been summoned from relevant officials.
