RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday arrested a former federal secretary Shahid Rafi in a rental power case, ARY News reported.
The NAB team arrested the former government official during a raid at his house in Islamabad.
Sources in the accountability watchdog said important documents were recovered from his possession during a raid. Rafi is nominated in 11 references filed by the NAB in the rental power case.

Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf is also facing charges of corruption the same case.
The NAB team will present the arrested suspect before the accountability court tomorrow (April 20).
Laiq Ahmed, a director of foreign firm named in the scandal, has also been arrested. He is also said to be the front man of former Azad Kashmir’s prime minister Raja Zulqarnain.
Babar Zulqarnain had sent money to Ahmed through an offshore account, said sources in the NAB.
Meanwhile, nephew of Raja Pervez Ashraf has reportedly threatened the NAB team when the latter contacted him. He later fled after arrival of police at his house.
An accountability court of Islamabad on April 15 decided to indict Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and other accused in the Rental Power Project scam on April 29. AC Judge Arshad Malik had heard the case in Islamabad.
