KARACHI: The law enforcement agencies claimed to have arrested two suspected target killers affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement London (MQM-L) during a raid in the metropolis.
According to details, the Rangers and police arrested the suspects during a joint raid in Oranig Town. They are stated to have links with the MQM-L’s South Africa Network.
They have been identified as Bilal and Irshad.
A Rangers spokesperson said both the target killers have confessed to planning acts of terrorism to sabotage peace in the city ahead of general elections.
He said they further admitted that the MQM-L Secretariat constituted teams in the month of June and provided them financial resources for the purpose.
Both the target killers were tasked to target candidates of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) in provincial assembly constituency PS-128, the spokesman added.
Weapons were also seized from the possession of the suspects.
